Cogeneration Plant
Our company commissioned a cogeneration plant in 2003 to meet its electrical energy and steam needs. A 75-ton/hour steam boiler, powered by pulverized coal, provides steam for the paper machines, while the system, with its 11.7 MWm steam turbine and generator, meets the plant's and the paper machine's electricity consumption. It also provides environmental benefits by reducing fuel consumption by generating both electricity and heat, reducing carbon footprint, reducing environmental impact through high efficiency, and reducing air pollution.
Waste Incineration and Biomass Power Plant
As Kahramanmaraş Paper Industry, we effectively manage the waste generated in our production processes. We utilize waste paper, fiber, filler, rejects, and sludge generated during mechanical separation and wastewater treatment stages with our Zero Waste approach, thereby reducing waste volumes and saving space. This process not only reduces disposal costs but also ensures that waste contributes to the local and national economy with high added value. The Waste Incineration and Biomass Power Plant, which we commissioned in 2021, converts waste into energy with an installed capacity of 10.7 MWm/10.5 MWe/34,227 MWt, making a significant contribution to our sustainability goals.
