Kahramanmaraş Paper Industry and Trade Inc. was established in 1988 in Kahramanmaraş and began operations at the end of 1989 with the 40,000-ton-per-year capacity PM1 paper machine, producing paper used in corrugated cardboard production.
Our Kahramanmaraş factory is built on a 200,000-square-meter area, 50,000 square meters of which is enclosed. Gray cardboard production began in 1997 with the commissioning of the completely new PM2 paper machine. The modernization of the PM1 machine in 2007 and the modernization of the PM2 machine in 2015 increased total capacity to 200,000 tons/year.
Thanks to the machine modernization carried out in 2023, PM1 production capacity was increased by 40%, bringing the total capacity to 240,000 tons/year, and product quality was enhanced. As of 2024, the transportation and storage processes of paper reels produced on the PM1 line have been digitalized with a smart weighing, strapping, and labeling line integrated with unmanned systems in line with the Industry 4.0 approach. Automatic transfer of the reels to the storage area, synchronized with the warehouse management system, has begun. Kahramanmaraş Kağıt, ranking among the top companies in its sector in Turkey in terms of production capacity, has continued its steady growth and become one of the preferred companies in the Turkish paper industry. Our company, which began its journey as Kahramanmaraş Paper Industry, continues under the MMC Paper brand in the last quarter of 2024.
Known for its Fluting and Testliner production for the packaging sector since its founding, Kahramanmaraş Kağıt has recently introduced innovative paper types to various sectors. Through its in-house R&D and P&D efforts, it has also added various paper and cardboard products to its production portfolio for the construction, textile, furniture, metal, plastic, electrical and electronics, and defense industries. By successfully producing various types of paper, which are 100% imported in the Turkish paper industry, the company has reduced the import rate in this area.
Aiming to develop products and strategies that maximize its competitiveness, Kahramanmaraş Paper Inc. ranks first in the Turkish paper industry in terms of paper diversity. Our company is the first manufacturer in Turkey of Gypsum Board and NSSC YSM paper types. Kahramanmaraş Paper Industry and Trade Inc. has established an Integrated Management System, obtaining ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System, ISO 50001 Energy Efficiency Management System, and FSC TM certifications, ensuring product and service quality for its customers.
Furthermore, the production process is monitored using highly advanced process control systems to ensure process management. From raw materials to final products, the entire process is controlled using modern Quality Control Laboratory testing equipment, utilizing international standards. It is confirmed through regular tests conducted at accredited laboratories that the papers produced do not contain any substances harmful to human health.
